The Dark series were primarily just studies of tone and light, while using somewhat dour subjects. The large painting at the top (and used as this blog’s header) is named ‘Azrael‘. The piece is on 4′x4′ wood, and I wanted to depict the subject expressing remorse in spite of being the angel of death. The painting that is fourth from the bottom is commentary regarding the suffering of animals and factory farming. The majority of these were created sometime during the mid-late 1990s. Most of these were on canvas board or wood 18×24 or 8×10 and painted with acrylics. ©2008
